Ten Signs You're Actually A Bad Driver...

10.) You Can Eat An Entire Happy Meal While Putting On Makeup And Talking On The Phone- Your "skill" at driving while doing a hundred different things that aren't paying attention to what's in front of you isn't really a good thing.
9.) You're Missing A Door Mirror- There's really only one way to lose a door mirror and that's to break it off when you weren't paying attention to where you were going.

8.) Your Bumpers Have More Than Three Colors On Them- If you've picked up paint from three different cars, you're probably a bad driver.

7.) Everyone Is Passing You On The Right- At a certain point when you find yourself wondering why there are so many people on the highway passing on the right, you need to realize that you cruising in the left lane is the real problem.

6.) You Think Your Camry Is A Sports Car- The more you try and convince me that your Camry is "grounded to the ground," the more I imagine you weaving through traffic at 93 miles an hour.

5.) Your Car Has a Cigarette Lighter That Works And Three Lights That Don't- When you know your cigarette lighter still works, but you've let three of your lights go out, you have bad priorities about maintenance. You just might be a terrible driver.

4.) Your Clutch Keeps Wearing Out, And Your Brakes, And The Sidewalls Of Your Tires- If you wonder why all the parts on your car keep wearing out, no matter what car you buy, it's not the car. It's you.

3.) All Your Friends Offer To Drive- If all of your friends offer to drive home every time, they're probably terrified of being in the car with you behind the wheel.

2.) Your Friends Get Quiet When You Say You're A Good Driver- First of all, if you are constantly telling people that you're a great driver, how you always zoom past slower traffic and how everyone else is awful on the road, then you're probably not good. If your friends get really, politely quiet when you say it, that's another sign.

1.) You Get Into A Lot Of Not-Your-Fault Accidents- Here's a tip: if you've been in a bunch of accidents that are "not your fault, I swear," you need to recognize that you're probably responsible. You can only have so many bumps, scrapes, and crashes before you realize you're the real source of the problem.

2014 Durango gets m.p.g. boost with new transmission

Dodge is boosting the fuel economy and enhancing other features of the Durango SUV in hopes such improvements can provide a much-needed sales boost.

The 2014 Durango, unveiled Thursday at the New York auto show, will be equipped with a new eight-speed transmission that Chrysler and German supplier ZF Group developed. Chrysler builds the transmission in Kokomo, Ind.

According to Dodge, the transmission will shift gears more efficiently and improve Durango’s fuel economy by 9%. Dodge also is replacing the shifter handle with a rotary knob and paddle controls so drivers can shift manually.

Dodge did not disclose the exact fuel economy for the 2014 Durango, but the current Durango gets a combined 19 m.p.g. on the highway with a 3.6-liter V6 engine. A four-wheel drive Durango powered by a V8 gets a combined 15 m.p.g., according to fueleconomy.gov.

While Chrysler reintroduced the Dodge Durango in 2011 after a one-year hiatus, U.S. sales fell 17.6% in 2012 to 42,589. Dodge dealers play up the SUV’s seven-passenger seating that is popular with families.

“When the Durango was first launched in 1998, it represented a breakthrough in power, size and style,” Reid Bigland, CEO of the Dodge brand, said in a statement. “Now for 2014, we’re upping the ante by making it our most technologically advanced, fuel-efficient and dramatically styled Durango ever.”

The refreshed version of the three-row Durango also gets a new signature tail-lamp with 192 LEDs. Similar tail-lamps have been popular design features on the Dodge Dart and Dodge Charger.
The Durango also has a new, slimmer “split crosshair” grille with mesh textures unique to each trim level.

Inside, the Durango will get Chrysler’s latest 5-inch or 8.4-inch Uconnect touch screen navigation and entertainment control system.

The 2014 Durango is available in five trim levels: SXT, Rallye, the new for 2014 Limited, R/T and Citadel.

It will be built at the Jefferson North Assembly Plant in Detroit. Production is scheduled to begin in the third quarter of 2013.

The price of the new model will be announced later.
